Panier Escadrille Paris

WHAT ARE SUEDE ESPADRILLES MADE FROM?

Napped leather, nubuck, buckskin, or suede espadrilles… All of these different names refer to one single material: a leather that has been buffed to give it a soft and velvety texture.
However, depending on the process used, suede espadrilles can have different finishes. So, for example, to make suede, both sides of the leather hide are abraded, giving both faces a fuzzy look. Nubuck, meanwhile, has a more uniform appearance and is created by buffing the grain (outward-facing) side of smooth leather.
A noble and durable material, high-precision technical skill, and inspired aesthetics: those are the ingredients of Escadrille’s suede espadrilles!

ESCADRILLE’S SUEDE ESPADRILLES FOR MEN AND WOMEN

With their irresistible casual-chic style, suede espadrilles obviously have a special place at Escadrille. The French brand’s best-selling pieces include the Lyonnaise suede espadrilles for men. Inspired by leather aviator jackets, this design exudes instant appeal with its delicate second-skin effect and careful finishes.
For women too, suede espadrilles of course have pride of place. We particularly adore the red-fruit Jane shoes. These open-toe espadrille wedges showcase sumptuous suede goatskin on both their straps and insole. A chic and comfortable hand-sewn creation that is seemingly irresistible!

HOW TO CARE FOR SUEDE ESPADRILLES

You might think suede espadrilles would be fragile, but this couldn’t be further from the truth! They are anything but throwaway shoes. Just like other fine materials, all you need to do is follow a few simple rules to keep them looking flawless and as good as new.
To make caring for suede espadrilles easy, we first recommend waterproofing them. There is a wide range of practical and inexpensive sprays available to buy, making it so straightforward to do. Avoid washing your suede espadrilles by soaking them in water (or wearing them on a rainy day) and make sure to dust them carefully and regularly with a brush (e.g. one made from crepe). In the event of any staining, simply clean with a special suede magic eraser.
